We are delighted to announce that Luminate 2026 information is now live!
We’ve added even more dog-friendly nights this year!
Dogs will be welcome to join their two-legged friends every Monday and Thursday from 3rd December, except for Christmas Eve (24th December).
28th December and 31st December are also dog-friendly nights.
On these selected dates only, you and your pups can enjoy the magical trail together. Just look for the dog symbol on our calendar.
Please remember that dogs are not permitted at Luminate on any other dates.
We can’t wait to see you and your canine companions! 🐕✨
These are the only dates when dogs are allowed. To help keep the experience enjoyable for everyone, please follow these simple rules:
• Each dog must have a responsible adult supervising them at all times — maximum of two dogs per adult.
• Dogs must stay on the marked footpath.
• Keep your dog on a short lead (no extendable leads, please).
• Dogs must never be left unattended.
• If a dog shows aggressive behaviour towards people or other dogs, they won’t be able to continue on the trail.
Luminate reserves the right to refuse entry or ask any misbehaving or disruptive dogs to leave, for the safety and comfort of all visitors.
And of course, please clean up after your pet using the bins provided. 💩
A reminder that Luminate is a vibrant, sensory environment with flashing lights, smoke effects, music, and crowds. If your dog may feel distressed, uneasy, or reactive in these conditions, it’s best to leave them at home.
Thank you for being responsible dog owners and helping us make the experience safe and magical for everyone.
XL Bully Dogs
We do not allow XL Bully Dogs and/or banned or dangerous breeds at Luminate. Entry will be denied to any person attempting to bring these breeds on site.

Parking is £7 per car. Remember to add this to your booking when getting those tickets to avoid any awkward "Oops, I forgot!" moments.
We’ve put a lot into our car parks, like lighting, staffing, and trackways, to make sure everyone parks safely and easily. On busy nights, parking is in high demand, so by reducing the number of cars, more folks can enjoy Luminate on their favourite dates! We're also big on reducing our environmental footprint, so we hope this charge encourages car-sharing. Plus, sharing the ride means sharing the excitement too!
If you arrive earlier than the first time slot, during the daytime operational hours, you will needa daytime car park ticket in addition to your Luminate parking ticket.
There is a disabled car park area, super close to the pedestrian entrance to the trail with limited spaces. Just a heads-up: while we can't guarantee a Blue Badge space, we'll do our best to park you as close as possible if the dedicated car park is full.
Please arrive no more than 10-15 minutes before your start time. From the car park the trail starts straight away (there are no shops or food and drink outlets before the start of the trial, only toilets). So please allow time to park and head to the start of our trail in readiness for your time slot opening, but do not arrive earlier than that. We will not be able to admit you prior to your booked session time. Last entry is 8.00pm. Please note the catering closes at 9.30pm

To keep everyone safe and make sure you have a blast, please stick to the clearly marked trail at all times. Kids and vulnerable adults need to be watched closely. Since Luminate happens during winter nights in a country estate, areas off the path may have hidden trip hazards. So, stay on track and follow any advice from our friendly stewards.
At Luminate Wales, there are unfenced water areas off the trail. Keep an extra eye on the little ones and vulnerable adults!
Our team will be checking trail conditions continuously, but remember, it's an outdoor event in winter after dark, so a bit of caution goes a long way. Supervision of children and vulnerable adults is key!
Enjoy our interactive light installations—they're a lot of fun! Just look for the ones marked for interaction, with stewards nearby to help out. Please avoid touching any other lights or electrical setups, and keep supervising your group to ensure everyone's safe.
Follow the twinkling festoon lights along the path, and you'll never lose your way! 😊 Friendly stewards are also there along the trail to guide you, ensuring you have a smooth and enjoyable experience.
If you've left something behind at Luminate, don't panic! Just shoot us an email at info@j9events.co.uk with full details of your visit, including the night and time slot you were there and what mysteriously vanished. We'll channel our inner detectives to reunite you with your lost treasures. 🕵️♂️🔦
You'll find toilets conveniently located in the car park at the trail's beginning, about a quarter of the way along, and at the café courtyard around three-quarters in. Both the car park and café courtyard facilities include accessible toilets for your convenience. 😊
Make sure to arrive on time for your entry slot! Each slot has a limited capacity, and on busy nights, the following slots (or even the whole evening) might be fully booked. If that's the case, we unfortunately can't move your ticket to another time.
This Christmas, instead of the same, boring ideas, why not treat your family and friends to a wonderful, winter walk at our mesmerising light trail, Luminate Wales at Margam Park? And remember our last event sold out, so this is a great chance to get your loved ones tickets before the most popular dates are fully booked! The perfect way to bring some light and sparkle to your festive calendar.
Simply go to Buy Tickets and select your chosen date & time-slot. Ensure that you check the “This is a gift” box and this will enable your gift recipient to change the date/time slot you have selected (at no extra cost). You will receive a booking confirmation email – with a detachable section to hand over to your recipient. Details of how they can transfer their date, will be included on that section.
*Please note, any changes are subject to availability and must be made at least 10 days prior to the booked session. In the unlikely event that we had to cancel Luminate all tickets purchased are fully refundable.
Once you've booked, you'll get an automated email with all your booking details (check your junk/spam folder just in case!). You'll see an Order/Booking Number in both your booking confirmation and the email. Snap a screenshot or jot it down for check-in.
No need for printed tickets! Just bring along your Order Number or the full name of the lead booking person. Keep that info handy, and you're all set for a smooth entry! 😊
Yes, you can add ticket protection during the checkout process. It gives you extra cover in case you need to cancel for an eligible reason, and the full details will be shown when you select the option while booking. You can see the full terms and conditions here.
Yes, all season ticket holders must still purchase a ticket in advance.
Got a bunch of tickets and your crew is arriving at different times? No worries! 😊 We can check everyone in as separate smaller groups. Just make sure each group has the lead booking name or the booking order number handy at the entrance.

You are welcome to bring your own mobility scooter. Unfortunately, we don't have any available to hire.
The trail has been created to be as accessible as possible within the context of the natural site of Margam Country Park and Castle. Please note that the overall site at Luminate Margam covers some steep gradients, so regrettably the trail does involve some unavoidable steep inclines/declines, which unfortunately some guests using wheelchairs/mobility aids may find very difficult. If a member of your party wishes to visit in advance (either in the daytime or on a separate night) to assess this, prior to your scheduled trip, please contact margam@luminate.live and we can happily facilitate this. We're thrilled to offer special time slots for guests with additional sensory needs!
Our 2026 Sensory Nights at Margam are Monday 1st December and Monday 8th December, with sessions at 4.30pm and 5.30pm.
Here's what you can look forward to:
Fewer people on the trail
Lower audio volume
A calmer, more relaxed atmosphere
We had amazing feedback from last year’s visitors, especially those with sensory needs, and we're excited to make the experience even better with these quieter sessions.
Our friendly stewards are always here to help make your night magical. If you need any extra support, just let us know. All team members are trained to recognise the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower symbol if anyone in your group chooses to wear it.
For more accessibility information, take a look at our Access section above. We know surprises add to the magic, but we also understand that some guests prefer more detail in advance. If you’d like more information about the trail layout or anything else to help you prepare, please email sensory@luminate.live.
Ticket prices for these sessions are the same as our regular evenings, and carer tickets are available in line with our standard policy.
We can’t wait to welcome you! 😊
