By public transport: From Cardiff or Swansea take the train to Port Talbot, then the X4 Bridgend bus for 15 mins, getting off at the Crematorium, and it's a 5 min walk from there. Or it's a 10 min Taxi from Port Talbot station.

By road: off the M4 at Junction 38, 1/2 a mile down the A48.

Tickets must be pre-booked online in advance.

Limited tickets are available for each timeslot, with many slots selling out.

😊 When you arrive, just head past the entrance kiosk to park in the Orangery Car Park. You can also use the car park right in front of the kiosk. (It may look like grass, but there's a sturdy trackway underneath!) Just follow the signs and listen to our friendly parking stewards once you're on site. Safe travels!

Parking is £5 per car. Remember to add this to your booking when getting those tickets to avoid any awkward "Oops, I forgot!" moments.

We’ve put a lot into our car parks, like lighting, staffing, and trackways, to make sure everyone parks safely and easily. On busy nights, parking is in high demand, so by reducing the number of cars, more folks can enjoy Luminate on their favourite dates! We're also big on reducing our environmental footprint, so we hope this charge encourages car-sharing. Plus, sharing the ride means sharing the excitement too! 🎉

Our event will have scrumptious hot food and drinks up for grabs—more details coming soon! For those craving a cosy vibe, head over to the fire pit for hot chocolate, tea, coffee, mulled wine, and marshmallows. Feel free to bring your own marshmallows, but don't forget the skewers! 😜

And on a serious note, bringing your own alcohol is a no-go. Anyone caught sneaking in their own booze will be shown the exit—no refunds, no exceptions! 🚫🍾

What provision do you make for guests with mobility restrictions?
The trail has been designed to be as accessible as possible within the natural setting of Margam Country Park and Castle. However, the overall site includes some steep gradients, so there are unavoidable inclines and declines that some guests using wheelchairs or mobility aids may find challenging.

If someone in your party would like to visit in advance to assess the route (either during the day or on a different evening), please contact margam@luminate.live and this can be arranged.

All of the route is outdoors and uncovered. After the bottom section of the trail, the route continues up a steep section of the Orangery gardens. This follows the usual site path that crosses Waterfall Bridge and continues towards the Castle car park. These are permanent paths but have a softer surface that may be harder to navigate during or after poor weather. After the catering area and fire pits, the trail goes down the permanent path in front of the Castle steps and towards the blue Orangery gates.

Stewards are positioned throughout the trail and are happy to assist at any point during your visit. If you need further information before you attend, please contact access@luminate.live.

Care has been taken to remove known trip hazards, but as the event takes place in a country park, natural debris such as stones, leaves, and twigs may be present. Some sections include cabling that will be covered by cable ramp covers.

Accessible toilets are available at the car park and in the Castle Courtyard (approximately 0.7 miles into the trail).

If extreme weather makes the trail unsuitable for wheeled mobility aids beyond the general limitations outlined above, tickets may be transferred to another date on a case by case basis.

Waterfall Bridge is wide enough for a standard wheelchair or single pram. If your mobility aid is wider than standard, please contact the team for further guidance.

The event team aim to ensure every visitor has a wonderful experience. Stewards will happily assist wherever possible. For any additional access questions, please email access@luminate.live.

Can I bring my mobility scooter or can mobility aids be provided?
You are welcome to bring your own mobility scooter. Mobility scooters or wheelchairs are not available to hire on site.
All access information and considerations are the same as detailed above for mobility restricted guests.

Do you have mobility aids for hire?
No, mobility scooters and wheelchairs are not available to hire.
All access information and considerations are the same as detailed above for mobility restricted guests.

To keep everyone safe and make sure you have an incredible time, please stick to the clearly marked trail. We kindly ask that children and vulnerable adults are always closely watched. Since Luminate happens during winter nights at a country estate, areas off the trail might have some hidden hazards. So, please follow the path and listen to our friendly staff for any guidance.

Our team will keep an eye on the trail conditions, but remember, it's a winter evening event in a natural setting. A little extra caution goes a long way. Don't forget to keep an eye on kiddos and vulnerable folks.

Please be aware that there are areas of unfenced water along the trail. We ask all visitors, especially those with children, to take extra care and remain mindful of their surroundings at all times.

Get ready to have fun with our interactive light installations! They're marked and have stewards nearby to help you out. For your safety, please avoid touching other lights or installations, and ensure children and vulnerable adults do the same. Enjoy the magic!

As you wander, the gardens and castle exterior come alive with dazzling lights and playful displays. This year's trail is like last years, but bigger, bolder, and with an extra sprinkle of pixie dust! Stretching about a mile, it’s the perfect excuse to stretch your legs and maybe your patience (depending on how often you stop for selfies). Expect to spend 60-90 magical minutes on this journey.

Need a break? Swing by our fire pit for some marshmallow-toasting action (grab some on-site or BYOM – bring your own marshmallows, don’t forget the skewers). And when hunger strikes, we've got you covered with our Courtyard café and a lineup of street food vendors serving up delicious bites until about 9pm. Don’t forget to swing by our drinks and mulled wine huts for a bit of liquid cheer! 🍷

Follow the twinkling festoon lights along the path, and you'll never lose your way! 😊 Friendly stewards are also there along the trail to guide you, ensuring you have a smooth and enjoyable experience.

To keep everyone safe and make sure you have a blast, please stick to the clearly marked trail at all times. Kids and vulnerable adults need to be watched closely. At Luminate Wales, there are unfenced water areas off the trail. Keep an extra eye on the little ones and vulnerable adults!

Our team will be checking trail conditions continuously, but remember, it's an outdoor event in winter after dark, so a bit of caution goes a long way. Supervision of children and vulnerable adults is key!
